Activities Committee

The Activities Committee oversees events in collaboration with medical schools and other organizations that help members navigate medical school preparation and exploration of different careers in the health profession. They provide informational resources and host events throughout the year such as guest speaker events, suture clinics, and panels.​

 

Mentorship Committee

The Mentorship Committee manages the Big Little Owl Mentorship program, which is intended to facilitate small group meetings and mentorship between Rice University students and physicians. As part of their mission to provide mentoring and informational resources, this committee hosts events such as shadowing programs and produces medical school survival guides to RPMS members.

 

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee helps organize various medical-related service projects and reach out to different organizations, hospitals, and administrators to expand volunteering and shadowing opportunities for RPMS members. ​

Upperclassmen Committee

The Upperclassman Committee is responsible for coordination and planning of a gap year panel and personal statement workshop in the fall as well as organization of mock interviews and multiple mini interviews (MMIs) in the spring. These events provide opportunities for Rice applicants to practice interview skills, understand interview expectations, and reduce feelings of nervousness.​
